Start of sales of electric MAN trucks

Sales of the MAN eTGX electric truck for long-distance transport and the MAN eTGS for distribution transport have officially started. MAN is thus setting another milestone in the decarbonization of freight transport. The first models are to be delivered to selected customers in 2024.

MAN Truck & Bus has started selling its first ever heavy-duty electric truck, setting another milestone in the decarbonization of freight transport. The commercial vehicle manufacturer reports that 600 order inquiries have already been received and assures that the first 200 units will be delivered to selected customers in 2024, before production begins in larger quantities at the MAN plant in Munich from 2025 as orders increase .

About two years ago, MAN laid the foundations for the development of the new MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS large-scale electric trucks at the Munich plant with the creation of the eMobility Center, and has also made major investments in preparing a mixed production of diesel and electric trucks. Approximately EUR 100 million was invested at the MAN plant in Nuremberg to launch battery production.

MAN wants to make it easier to switch to electric vehicles

It was clear to MAN designers from the very beginning that the widespread transition to electromobility would only be successful if the new eTruck was in no way inferior to a diesel truck in terms of practicality and suitability for use, but above all in terms of the possibility of being combined with a wide range of a range of body solutions. The pre-purchase consultation phase is as important as the necessary basis for successful use.
